SOMATICS: Body-based Nervous System Regulation

What is Somatics?

“Soma” refers to sensing the body’s experience from within, also known as interoception. Somatic practices can help you perceive, understand, and process this inner experience. Using a trauma-informed sequence of body-based practices you can increase the accuracy of this inner connection, discover how to support your nervous system and gain a felt sense of integration and wholeness.

 

In my practice, I use:

  • Evidence-based tools to find safety in your environment and your body, and repattern automatic reactions into conscious responses.

  • Somatic movement to mobilize intuitively and gently release held tension and stress while increasing your interoception. 

  • Somatic inquiry to carefully and compassionately observe sensations, shape change, and movements related to body memory and emotional material.
