Welcome to Joy Somatics On-line! This intro was recorded April 2020 when I started recording videos during lockdowns. Joy Somatics videos are intended for home practice to support everyone during this uncertain and challenging time. These videos are ideal for those wanting to practice from home on their own. Feel free to use and share with family and friends who could benefit from them. We all could use more 'Joy' these days. You will find a combination of yoga, bodymind ballwork and SomaSensing Somatic Movement classes and Joy's tips for wellness during times like these. Guidelines & Cautions; - These are unedited, you get to experience me as I am with my students in classes. We are perfectly imperfect here and show up as we are. -Expect a variety of yoga, Bodymind Ballwork and movements from somatic movement modalities. Caution: Practice at your own risk, use your common sense and listen to your body. Rest when you need and skip things that don't feel right for you. Joy cannot be responsible for injuries. Mindful Myofascial Release for Low back & hips, ITB, inner thigh
Find more suppleness in lower body and ease your low back tension and hip pain with Bodymind ballwork, somatic movement and yoga. You will need; - 2- 5" balls - 2 - 3" balls - Strap or belt - yoga brick or a thick book optional - blanket or cushion for comfort
Mindful Myofascial Release for Upper Back & Neck
A luxurious 80 min somatic practice of bodymind ballwork, somatic movement and yoga to unwind tension in upper back and neck. Enjoy the sounds of my windchimes and my outdoor movement space! You will need; 1- 5" ball 2 - 3" balls a belt or strap optional - bolster for hip support, blanket/pillow for comfort
40 min Basic Practice for Low Back (yoga, ball and bounce)
Gentle and basic-level practice for low back tension. Experience a blend of yoga, Bodymind Ballwork and a sprinkling of movements from SomaSensing Somatic Movement. You will need 2 balls (optional for a few minutes of Bodymind Ballwork) a strap and a chair or table (optional for those wanting gentler version).
